The town of Brighton is set to get just a little greener.
This week, the Brighton Town Council voted 7-2 to permit leisure marijuana retail outlets for the primary time. The council-approved ordinance permits for the status quo of 4 retail outlets, with two of the licenses reserved for social fairness candidates. Packages open March 1.
This would be the first time Brighton, which is situated essentially in Adams County, has ever allowed hashish companies inside town limits, even though leisure weed has been criminal in Colorado for a decade and clinical marijuana has been criminal since 2000. The town nonetheless prohibits cultivation and production companies.
